Repeat Prescriptions

You can make your request using the slips available in surgery. Carefully mark the items required and forward them to us in person or by post (if you attach an SAE we will return your prescription by post).

Alternatively you can order online via the link below. New users are required to complete a simple registration prior to using the service.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed. If there is a query on your request this may take longer, please remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account. Thank you.

Request your prescription online

The practice offer an online system for patients that wish to manage their own medications.

(Please be aware that if you are not known to the practice, we will ask for ID to confirm your identity)

You will be given an unique user name and password. You will then be able to log into this and order your medications

Pharmacies can manage your prescription for you

Please sign a consent form at the Pharmacy of your choice. Your medication will then be requested by the pharmacy on your behalf, using our prescription email address (wfccg.ecclesbourneprescriptions@nhs.net).

Please be aware there is still a 48 hour policy for regular repeat medication. Any medication that is not on repeat or needs to be checked by a clinician may take longer. Please ensure that you request your medication in appropriate time.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your paper repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to your prescription request.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges apply in England

• Prescription (per item): £9.35
• 3-month PPC: £30.25
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
